When an invoice arrives, you pick how to pay it. The work costs the same either way. What changes is the charge for moving the money.

Bank transfer. A flat 15c, whatever the job costs. You approve it in your own banking app.
•
Card. 2.9% + 30c, handled by Stripe. Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay.
On anything but a very small job, the bank transfer works out cheaper. That's why it's listed first and already selected. You see both totals side by side either way, so you're never guessing.

Paying by bank, step by step

Choose your bank
We hand you to Akahu, New Zealand's open banking service, and it hands you to your own bank's login. NovaPay never sees your banking password.

Approve the payment
Your bank shows you the amount and who it is going to. You approve it there, in your own banking app.

Come back
You land back in the chat, and it updates to paid within a few seconds.
Refunds
A card payment is refunded to your card through Stripe. A bank transfer is refunded by the business straight to your account, because that is where the money went. Either way, start by reporting the problem in the chat. See When the work isn't right.
