Is a plan of many visits normal?
It is common, and it is fair to ask what it is based on and what happens if you improve sooner. A clear answer about how progress will be reviewed is a reasonable thing to expect before paying for a block.
Does ACC cover chiropractic?
For an injury, often partly, and chiropractors can lodge an ACC claim. As with physiotherapy there is usually a surcharge you pay, so ask what your share will be.
Is chiropractic registered in New Zealand?
Yes. Chiropractors must be registered with the New Zealand Chiropractic Board and hold an annual practising certificate. You can ask, and a practitioner will not mind being asked.
What if I would rather not be adjusted?
Say so. Many chiropractors use lower force techniques, and some people prefer them. It is a reasonable thing to raise in your request so you are matched with someone who works that way.
