How much does it cost to paint a house in NZ?
Too much depends on the house for a national figure to be useful. Cladding type, storeys, access and how much preparation the surfaces need can move an exterior quote by a factor of two. A quote on your actual house is the only number worth having.
When is the best time to paint outside?
Late spring through early autumn. Most exterior paints need surfaces dry and temperatures above roughly ten degrees, so winter work in much of New Zealand is weather dependent and slower.
Does the quote include paint?
Usually, but not always, and it is the most common reason two quotes are not comparable. NovaPay asks painters to say what is included so you can see it rather than assume it.
How long will my house be out of action?
Interior rooms are usually a day or two each including drying. Exteriors run one to three weeks depending on size, preparation and weather. Ask for expected dates as part of the quote.
