Where is the leak actually coming from?
Rarely above the wet patch. Water runs along framing before it drops, so finding the entry point is part of the job and a good roofer will price the investigation honestly rather than guess from the ground.
Repair or reroof?
It depends on age and how much of the roof is failing rather than on the one leak you can see. Ask for both quoted where it is a genuine choice, because a patch on a roof near the end of its life is money spent twice.
Will my insurance cover storm damage?
Often, and most roofers are used to quoting in the format insurers want. Say it is an insurance claim in your request so the quote comes back with the detail your insurer will ask for.
How long does a reroof take?
A few days to a couple of weeks depending on size, pitch and weather, and it is weather dependent by nature. Ask what happens if it rains mid job, because that answer tells you how they work.
