$80 to $150 an hour

Typical New Zealand rates. Most plumbers also charge a callout fee, and urgent after-hours work costs more. A quote through NovaPay shows the callout and the rate separately, so you can see what you are agreeing to.
COMMON QUESTIONS
How fast can I get a plumber?
It depends on the job and your area. Urgent work such as a burst pipe usually gets a response fastest, because plumbers keep space in the day for it. Say in your request that it is urgent and that goes to them with everything else.
Is an emergency plumber more expensive?
Yes. After-hours, weekend and public holiday callouts usually carry a higher rate or a larger callout fee. Any quote you get through NovaPay states it before you accept.
Do I have to pay to get quotes?
No. NovaPay is free for customers. You pay the plumber for the work, through NovaPay, and only once you have accepted their price.
Can a plumber do gasfitting too?
Often, but not always. Gasfitting is separately certified in New Zealand. Mention gas in your request and NovaPay only asks tradespeople who do that work.
